It all takes places in these warm spheres of influence; the reading of the Torah, the lighting of the candles, the ingestion of spiritual goodness and that which holds itself in love and grace on the plate. I feel so so close to my family in those moments when the candlelight flickers, and I can see the very essence of those beings that I – and all who came before us – brought into humanhood – into life. I see their very essences, as if the shadows reveal everything inherent and external that a soul has to expose. I find it utterly beautiful, beyond the touch of words, or even music, this lighting and this singing and this historical excavation of all that we know to be true.
23 words for this moment – ha! no, much more than that today!
Snow in big swathy chunks falls out of the sky and we can’t believe it could be true – that from the atmosphere something so graceful could fall, as this candlelight ascending.
in harmony with Mother Nature,
Sabrina
